Showboat Lanes opened in 1954 on Boulder Highway in Las Vegas, housing one of the largest bowling centers in the world. Serious bowlers from across the country made pilgrimages to its 106 lanes. Beyond the casinos, that alley gave Las Vegas a real identity as a sporting destination.
