Silver Nugget opened in 1964 on Las Vegas Boulevard North, anchoring a stretch of North Las Vegas that working locals called their own. Far from the glittering Strip, it served the people who actually built the city. Some casinos chased tourists, but this one belonged to the neighborhood.
