Tava Lanes opened its doors in Riverside, California during the bowling boom of the 1950s and 1960s, when suburban America was falling in love with ten-pin action and Friday night league play. Located at 3439 Arlington Avenue near the freeway, this neighborhood bowling center became a cornerstone of Riverside's recreational scene for decades. During its heyday, Tava Lanes epitomized the golden age of bowling alleys, complete with the distinctive mid-century architecture and neon signage that defined the sport's most popular era. The alley served generations of local bowlers, from serious league competitors to families enjoying weekend outings, before eventually closing its doors as the bowling industry evolved.
