Encino's Good Wife stood at Balboa and Ventura as a neighborhood gathering place through the 1960s and 1970s. San Fernando Valley regulars had their usual booth, and the hostess knew every name. The Details:
A two-tone black and red vintage architectural illustration depicts a Tudor-style building with a cupola, covered entrance, and distinctive red roof. Dark olive spaced serif text below reads "BALBOA & VENTURA" above "ENCINO, CALIF." in a smaller weight. A black decorative plaque shape contains "THE" in small olive lettering above "Good Wife" in ornate golden-yellow blackletter calligraphy.
