Palms in the Jungle stood at 1110 East Orangethorpe in Anaheim, a tiki restaurant born from the Polynesian craze sweeping Southern California in the 1950s and 1960s. Places like this turned a simple dinner out into an escape, trading suburban sidewalks for bamboo and tropical fantasy. Anaheim had Disneyland, but the locals had their own kind of magic.
