Waterloo's Hawks took the field in 1922, bringing organized baseball to a proud Iowa river town. For decades, the franchise gave Cedar Valley something to rally around on warm summer nights. Some teams belong to a city the way a church steeple belongs to a skyline, quietly defining the place itself. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
A cartoon hawk mascot in a white baseball uniform and orange cap labeled "Waterloo" crouches beside a large golden-yellow "W," holding a brown glove. Bold orange block letters read "HAWKS" above golden-yellow text reading "Baseball Club." A white baseball bat illustration sits above yellow italic text reading "Est. 1922 • Waterloo, Iowa."
