Wausau's Lumberjacks took the diamond in 1905 as part of the Wisconsin State League, Class D ball at its purest. In a timber town built on sawmills and hard work, baseball gave the community something to gather around on long summer evenings. Some clubs chase glory, but this one simply belonged to its people. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Circular seal text reading "1905" and "ESTABLISHED IN WAUSAU, WISCONSIN" sits beside a cartoon lumberjack in a yellow plaid shirt and knit cap, holding a bat and log. Distressed white script reads "Wausau," above golden-tan lettering reading "Lumberjacks." White text below reads "WISCONSIN STATE LEAGUE CLASS D" and "Baseball Club" flanked by two white dots.
