West Palm Beach fielded the Sheriffs in the Florida State League starting in 1928, bringing Class D baseball to a city still buzzing from the land boom. Small town minor league clubs like this one were the backbone of organized baseball. Coastal communities found a sense of pride here long before spring training made South Florida famous. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched golden-tan text reads "WEST PALM BEACH" curving above a cream circular badge containing a vintage hand-drawn illustration of a baseball player in a star-badged sheriff hat, mid-swing. Banner-style text across the figure reads "CLASS D BASEBALL," "FLORIDA STATE," and "LEAGUE." Golden-tan text reads "ESTD" and "1928" flanking the badge, with large curved text reading "SHERIFFS" below.
