Roller skating in a sport coat is the 1950s equivalent of wearing a blazer to a pool party. Westview Skateland listed a seven-digit phone number because strangers were just neighbors you hadn't square-danced with yet.
The Details:
Barrel-shaped red and cream border with curved red script reading "Roller Skating" at the top and "A BARREL O' FUN" in red block letters below, with a small "~CHICAGO~" stamp at upper right. A 1950s hand-drawn illustration in red, black, and cream depicts four figures roller skating. Bottom text reads "WESTVIEW SKATELAND," "461 Commerce Sq. W. — At 4000 Sullivan Ave., Columbus, Ohio," and "Phone No. 276-6371."
