Wichita Falls claimed its Spudders as a source of hometown pride from 1920 through the oil boom years of North Texas. Named for the spudding process of drilling wells, the club tied baseball directly to the roughneck culture that built the region. Few minor league teams ever wore their city's identity so honestly.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
