Wonder Bowl opened in 1959 in Downey, California, as the neighborhood's living room with thirty-two lanes. Southern California had hundreds of bowling alleys, but few held a community together the way Wonder Bowl did. The Details:
Circular signs mounted on radiating poles spell out "WONDER" above "BOWL" in a vintage lollipop-sign arrangement, with lines fanning outward from a central point below. Two light blue diamond shapes flanking the center each contain crossed white bowling pin outlines. Cursive script reads "Downey, California" above clean uppercase text reading "ESTABLISHED 1959."
