York's Prohibitionists took the field in 1911 as a Class D club in the Nebraska State League. During an era when temperance shaped American culture, even a team name carried moral weight. Some clubs are remembered for championships, but York earned its place by reflecting the convictions of its time. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Gold Old English lettering reads "York, Prohibitionists" across the top. A distressed golden-yellow illustration of a batter in a vintage uniform and cap mid-swing occupies the center beside large outlined numerals "1911."
