Zim's Hamburgers served San Francisco from 1947 through the early 1990s, anchoring busy corners along Van Ness and other boulevards. Generations of locals knew it as the place you went after a movie, after a shift, after everything. Some restaurants feed a city, and some become woven into its daily rhythm. Part of our Vintage Restaurant collection, celebrating the classic American menus of yesteryear.
The Details:
Large distressed red script reads "Zim's" above black brush-lettered "Broiled" and bold black serif capitals "HAMBURGERS." A vintage cartoon mascot of a boy in an apron labeled "Zims" holds an oversized hamburger overhead. Red italic text reads "HOT APPLE PIE" with "SAN FRANCISO, CA • ESTD 1947" below.
