Zim's was a San Francisco institution from 1947 through the early 1990s, a chain of diners that became woven into the daily rhythm of the city. Generations of San Franciscans marked late nights, early mornings, and everything between at those counters. Some restaurants feed you, and some become the place you always come back to.
