The Duluth Whalebacks made their mark in 1891 as members of the Western Association, drawing their name from the unique iron ore ships that sailed Lake Superior. Representing the industrial might and maritime pride of northern Minnesota, the Whalebacks brought hard-nosed baseball to the Great Lakes during one of the sport’s earliest professional eras. This design is part of our old school retro baseball collection inspired by the vintage and now defunct Minor League Baseball teams of yesteryear.
