The Mint opened in 1957 on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas, long before the Strip stole the spotlight. Gamblers who preferred grit over glamour found a home here. Downtown was the original heart of Vegas, and The Mint helped keep it beating through the 1960s and 1970s.
