Kona Lanes opened in 1958 in Costa Mesa, California, and quickly became more than a bowling alley. Rooted in Orange County's postwar suburban growth, it served as a gathering place for generations. Some lanes outlast their era because they never stopped belonging to the neighborhood.
Part of our Retro Bowling collection, featuring the defunct alleys of yesteryear.
The Details:
Distressed red and white illustration of a mid-century roadside marquee sign supported by angled poles, with stylized white text reading "KONA LANES" across an oval top section. White hand-lettered text reads "BOWL" on a wider angular red banner below, lined with a row of small white dots. Cursive white script reads "Costa Mesa" above white text reading "California" at the base.
