Watertown's Townies took the field in 1934 as part of the Northeastern League's Class B circuit. Nestled in Massachusetts, the club gave a tight-knit town a team to rally behind every summer. Minor league ball meant something different back then, closer to a civic heartbeat than a business. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Distressed white arched text reads "TOWNIES" above curved text reading "WATERTOWN, MASS." A white baseball diamond viewed from above sits over two crossed bats, with a star near second base and block text reading "NORTHEASTERN LEAGUE CLASS B BASEBALL" inside the diamond. Flanking the bottom, text reads "EST." and "1934" on either side of home plate.
