Missoula's Timberjacks brought Pioneer League baseball to western Montana starting in 1956, giving a timber town its own summer heartbeat. Class C ball meant small crowds and dusty diamonds, but those games knit the community together in ways bigger leagues never could. Some teams are remembered not for championships, but for belonging to a place. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.

Weathered copper text at the bottom reads "PIONEER LEAGUE ★ MISSOULA MONTANA."
