St. Paul's Apostles took the field in 1884 as part of the Northwestern League, representing a young Minnesota city still finding its identity. Baseball in that era was raw, local, and deeply personal to the communities that fielded teams. Short-lived as they were, clubs like the Apostles laid the groundwork for St. Paul's long, proud minor league tradition.
