Spokane's Smoke Eaters took the diamond in 1902 as part of the Class B Pacific Northwest League. Born in an era when fire brigades were the backbone of every western city, the name carried real weight in Spokane. Few early minor league clubs so perfectly captured the grit and pride of the community they represented. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
