Showboat Hotel & Casino opened in 1954 on Boulder Highway, far from the glitter of the Las Vegas Strip. Locals claimed it as their own, drawn by league nights and an easygoing riverboat spirit. Its bowling center, added in 1959, became a fixture of the professional tour for decades. Some casinos chased tourists, but the Showboat built a hometown. Part of our Vintage Las Vegas collection, celebrating the defunct golden era venues of yesteryear.
