Opening in 1957 on the Las Vegas Strip, the Tropicana quickly earned its name as the Tiffany of the Strip. Its Blue Room became a sanctuary for jazz, where big bands and late-night sets drew the city's most devoted listeners. Some showrooms simply hosted entertainment.
