Tropicana Hotel and Country Club opened in 1957 on the Las Vegas Strip, carrying an air of refinement that set it apart from the neon spectacle around it. Country club elegance met desert ambition in a way few resorts ever attempted. Decades later, it remained a quiet monument to a more sophisticated side of Vegas.
