Seven Seas stood as one of Hollywood's defining tiki temples, drawing crowds along the boulevard from the 1950s through the golden age of Polynesian pop culture. California's postwar fascination with the South Pacific found a spiritual home there. Some restaurants serve food, but this one served an entire fantasy.
