Covina Bowl stood as a mid-century landmark along San Bernardino Road in Covina, California. Opening during the 1950s bowling boom, it became a gathering place for leagues, families, and Saturday night crowds across the San Gabriel Valley. Some alleys were just lanes and shoes, but Covina Bowl was where a community showed up for each other. Part of our Vintage Los Angeles collection, featuring the iconic local landmarks of yesteryear.
The Details:
Hand-lettered text in white with dark blue outlines reads "Covina" in an atomic-age boomerang style, with "bowl" below in bold blue lowercase serif. A mid-century modern illustration depicts an A-frame bowling alley building in red and blue with yellow awnings and a red line-work parking lot. Red and blue sans-serif text reads "1060 SAN BERNARDINO ROAD" and "COVINA, CALIF." beside a small red telephone icon and "339•1286."
