Mark Thomas' Outrigger brought the warmth of Polynesian escape to Monterey, California, during the tiki craze of the 1960s. Nestled along the coast, it was the kind of place where the mai tais were strong and the atmosphere transported you somewhere far from ordinary. Tiki bars like this one gave a generation permission to dream beyond their own shores. Part of our Vintage Tiki collection, celebrating the defunct golden era bars of yesteryear.
The Details:
Distressed golden-yellow Polynesian-style scroll and wave patterns form a rectangular panel at the top. Hand-lettered script reading "Mark Thomas'" sits beside bold retro block text reading "OUTRIGGER" in the center, flanked above and below by matching scroll panels. Distressed sans-serif capitals below read "MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA."
