Makai Room stood as a beloved tiki sanctuary on Venice Boulevard in Mar Vista, California, from the mid-century era when Polynesian cocktail culture swept Los Angeles. Every neighborhood had its own escape to the South Pacific, and this was Mar Vista's. Some bars serve drinks, but places like this transported entire communities to another world. Part of our Vintage Tiki collection, celebrating the defunct golden era bars of yesteryear.
