Anaheim's Valencias played Class C ball in the Sunset League beginning in 1947, named for the Valencia oranges that defined the region. Orange groves still stretched for miles across Southern California then, and a local baseball club meant everything to a growing community.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched orange block text reads "VALENCIAS" above a vintage cartoon orange mascot in a batting stance, holding a yellow bat, with a green leaf, white gloves, and cleats. Orange script reading "Anaheim" and "California" flanks the mascot. Below, orange and navy text reads "BASEBALL CLUB," "ESTD 1947," and "SUNSET LEAGUE • CLASS C."
