Santa Ana's Orange Countians took the field in 1928 as part of the California State League. Orange County was still mostly groves and farmland then, miles from the sprawl it would become. A local baseball club gave a young, scattered community something to gather around and call its own. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched white text reads "SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA" above distressed orange text reading "ORANGE" with a vintage cartoon anthropomorphic orange character in white gloves and shoes carrying a baseball bat, flanked by green "19" and "28." Below, distressed white text reads "COUNTIANS" and "BASEBALL CLUB." Teal cursive at the bottom reads "California State League."
