Brainerd's Blues took the field in 1934 as part of the Northern League, bringing organized baseball to the lakes region of central Minnesota. Small town clubs like these were the soul of Depression-era America, giving working families something to cheer for on summer evenings. Some teams are remembered not for championships, but for what they meant to the people who showed up. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
