Canton's Terriers took the field in 1928 as part of the Central League's Class B circuit. Minor league ball in Canton, Ohio meant everything to a steel town that already lived and breathed sports. On summer evenings, working families packed the stands, finding something worth cheering for that was entirely their own. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched golden-tan serif text reads "CENTRAL LEAGUE" and "CLASS B" on the left, with "ESTD" and "1928" stacked on the right. A cartoon terrier in a batting stance, rendered in white and brown with tongue out, fills the center beside white script reading "Canton," above large flowing white cursive reading "Terriers" with an underline swoosh. Smaller golden-tan serif text below reads "Canton, Ohio."
