Carson City's Silver Stars took the diamond in 1870, when Nevada was barely six years old and mining towns craved spectacle beyond the saloons. Baseball gave that young desert capital something to rally around. Some teams get remembered for championships, but the Silver Stars helped a raw frontier town feel like a real community.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
