Chi-Chi opened in the 1950s as Palm Springs' premier tiki destination, drawing Hollywood regulars escaping to the desert for rum drinks and Polynesian atmosphere. Postwar California embraced tiki culture with genuine enthusiasm. Few places embodied that era like this legendary desert watering hole.

The Details:
Distressed navy block lettering in curved Art Deco-influenced letterforms reads "CHI-CHI" at the top. Orange script text below reads "Palm Springs, Calif." A vintage hand-drawn hula dancer in a grass skirt and lei stands among palm trees, tropical foliage, yellow and white flowers, and an orange hibiscus, rendered in muted navy, orange, sage green, and yellow ink with weathered texture.
