Chi Chi supper clubs brought tiki culture to Southern California starting in the 1950s, with locations in Palm Springs, Hollywood, Riverside, Long Beach, and San Diego. Polynesian escapism captivated postwar America, and these rooms delivered it nightly. Ordinary evenings became voyages to somewhere far away.
Part of our Vintage Tiki collection, celebrating the defunct golden era bars of yesteryear.
The Details:
Large curved blue script reads "CHI-CHI" at the top. A vintage mid-century illustration of a hula dancer with a flower in her hair, lei, and grass skirt poses against radiating orange and yellow stripes, flanked by a sailboat, thatched hut, and palm trees. Blue block text lists "PALM SPRINGS," "HOLLYWOOD," "RIVERSIDE," "LONG BEACH," and "SAN DIEGO."
