Danville's Tobaccoists took the field in 1905 as part of the Virginia North Carolina League, carrying the identity of a city built on tobacco. Class C clubs like this one were the soul of small town summers. Before television, these teams gave Danville, Virginia something to gather around on long Southern evenings. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
