Henderson's Bunnies hopped into the Piedmont League in 1929, bringing Class C baseball to a small North Carolina tobacco town. Locals packed wooden bleachers during the Depression era to cheer on their oddly named squad. Some teams earn their place in history simply by giving a community something to believe in.
