Opened in 1966, The Islander was designed to resemble a shipwreck on a sandy beach, thanks to architect Warren Wong who worked with founder Hop Louie. It quickly became the hottest nighttime destination in Stockton, featuring its own collectible tiki mug line and a Polynesian ambiance that drew crowds from across the Central Valley. The venue closed around 1980, the building was relocated in the mid-’80s and briefly repurposed as Pollardville Chicken Kitchen before being demolished. This design is inspired by vintage defunct tiki and Polynesian inspired establishments of yesteryear. Printed on our warm & cozy heavyweight unisex sweatshirt. We print & ship all of our high quality graphic sweatshirts in the USA.
