Opened in 1966, The Islander was designed to resemble a shipwreck on a sandy beach, thanks to architect Warren Wong who worked with founder Hop Louie. It quickly became the hottest nighttime destination in Stockton, featuring its own collectible tiki mug line and a Polynesian ambiance that drew crowds from across the Central Valley. The venue closed around 1980, the building was relocated in the mid-’80s and briefly repurposed as Pollardville Chicken Kitchen before being demolished. This design is inspired by vintage defunct tiki and Polynesian inspired establishments of yesteryear. Printed on our super soft 100% ringspun & combed cotton women's T-Shirt.
