The Kon-Tiki at Cleveland's Sheraton-Mt. Royal Hotel brought Polynesian paradise to the shores of Lake Erie during the height of America's tiki craze in the 1960s. This exotic South Seas escape transported guests from Ohio's industrial landscape into a world of carved totems, tropical cocktails, and flickering torchlight. The bar became a beloved fixture of Cleveland's hospitality scene, offering locals and travelers alike a taste of island mystique in the heart of the Midwest. Like many hotel tiki bars of the era, it represented the golden age of themed dining, when escapism and exotic ambiance ruled the night.
