Kon-Tiki brought the South Seas to Cleveland, Ohio inside the Sheraton Mt. Royal Hotel, thriving from the 1960s through the tiki craze era. Polynesian restaurants like this one were more than themed dining, they were portals to an imagined paradise. Cleveland's version held its own among the great tiki bars of the Midwest.
