Long Beach fielded the Beachcombers in the Southern California League during the 1913 season, a brief but proud chapter in minor league history. California's coastal towns were building identities through baseball in that era. A team like this gave Long Beach something to rally around before the city became the sprawling port town it is today. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
