Long Beach Clothiers competed in the Southern California Trolley League, a Class D circuit established around 1910 that connected small towns by streetcar lines. Baseball and transit were inseparable then, with fans riding trolleys to the ballpark. Teams like the Clothiers gave Long Beach identity before the city outgrew its small-town roots.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched white text reads "Long Beach" above ornate Victorian serif lettering reading "Clothiers." A distressed golden-yellow illustration of a mustachioed baseball player in an upright pose stands beside a bat, with "Est." and "1910" in large weathered block numerals to the left. Smaller text below reads "Southern California Trolley League, Class D Baseball Club."
