Memphis Turtles joined the Southern Association in 1909, competing in Class A ball across the Deep South. Memphis, Tennessee was a Southern Association stronghold where minor league baseball wasn't minor at all. Summer nights belonged to the local club, and the whole city felt every win and every loss.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
