Miami, Arizona was copper country, and when the Miners joined the Arizona State League in 1928, they carried that blue-collar grit onto the diamond. Small mining towns across the Southwest fielded teams that meant everything to communities built on hard labor. Baseball gave those miners something to cheer for beyond the next shift. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
A vintage logo for the Miami Miners, the defunct 1928 Arizona State League minor league baseball team from the copper mining town of Miami, Arizona, with a cartoon prospector mascot at bat.
