Willowbrook Lanes sat at Plainfield Road and Route 83 in Willowbrook, Illinois, a suburban bowling alley that became something more in the 1980s. Mike Ditka's Willow Lounge inside carried a mystique no ordinary lanes bar could match. Suburban gathering spots rarely had that kind of gravity.
