Portland's Eskimos took the field in 1926 as part of the New England League, bringing Class B baseball to Maine during an era when minor league clubs were the soul of their cities. Small-town professional baseball meant something then. Every summer game at the local grounds knit the community a little tighter together. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
