The Poughkeepsie Honey Bugs played in 1913 as part of the New YorkâNew Jersey League, bringing hard-nosed baseball to Poughkeepsie, New York with one of the most unusual team names of the era. Known more for grit than flash, the Honey Bugs gave local fans a season to remember along the banks of the Hudson.
