Poughkeepsie fielded its Honey Bugs in the New York-New Jersey League during the 1913 season, a Class D club playing in an era when small-city baseball was the fabric of community life. Towns like Poughkeepsie poured their pride into these teams. Long after the league folded, the name still echoes along the Hudson Valley. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
