Recreation Alleys on West 16th Street stood as Cheyenne's gathering place through the mid-twentieth century. Wyoming's capital city never had much use for pretense, and neither did this alley. Leagues bowled here on weeknights, families on weekends, and the crack of pins echoed through a town built on railroads and ranching. Part of our Retro Bowling collection, featuring the defunct alleys of yesteryear.
The Details:
Flowing white script text reads "Recreation Alleys" above a distressed white illustration of a bowling ball striking pins in a radial burst pattern with motion lines radiating outward. Hand-lettered white text below reads "418 W. 16th ST." and "Cheyenne, Wyo."
